A trademark application should not come with an hourly surprise. Every Marksy registration package has one posted service fee; the USPTO's government fee ($350 per class for a standard electronic application) is passed through at cost and labelled separately. You search first, free, so you never pay to file a name that is already taken.
The packages
Prices are live from the catalogue. Government fees are billed separately, at cost.
- Trademark Registration — Economic — $199 flat fee: Application prepared from your consultation answers and filed with the USPTO; serial number and receipt sent to you; status alerts at every milestone.
- Trademark Registration — Business — $450 flat fee: Everything in Economic plus a knockout clearance search with a written report, so conflicts are spotted before you spend a filing fee.
- Trademark Registration — Professional — $1,250 flat fee: Everything in Business plus routine office-action responses (disclaimers, classification, specimen issues) and twelve months of watch service.
- Trademark Registration — Executive — $1,999 flat fee: Full prosecution of one application start to finish — every office action, including §2(d) and §2(e) refusals — with twelve months of watch service.
How it works
- Search your mark. Run a free knockout search across 13 million federal records. The trademarks tab answers 'can I use this name?' before you spend a dollar.
- Answer five minutes of questions. Who owns the mark, what you sell, whether you are already using it. We classify your goods and services and prepare the USPTO forms.
- An attorney files and we monitor. An independent licensed attorney reviews, signs and files the application as attorney of record. Every office action, publication and registration milestone is tracked and you are told what it means.
What every package includes

Questions
How much does it cost to register a trademark?
The USPTO charges $350 per class of goods or services for a standard electronic application; that fee goes entirely to the government. Marksy's service fee is the posted package price — from $199 for Economic to $1,999 for Executive — and never changes after you order.
Do I need a lawyer to register a trademark?
US applicants are not required to use one; foreign-domiciled applicants are. Either way, an independent licensed attorney reviews and files every Marksy application, which materially lowers the chance of a fatal mistake.
How long does registration take?
Most applications take eight to fourteen months from filing to registration. The USPTO examines around month six to eight; if no refusals issue and no one opposes, registration follows publication.
Intent-to-use or use-in-commerce?
If you are already selling under the mark, file use-in-commerce. If you intend to use it but have not launched, file intent-to-use to lock in an earlier priority date and submit a specimen later.
Is Marksy a law firm?
No. Marksy is an automated online service and an advertising business. Where attorney services are involved they are provided by independent licensed attorneys, currently MC Law, PLLC, who are solely responsible for the legal services they render.
